Privacy policy
Last updated: March 2026
Short version: We don't have user accounts, we don't track you, and we don't sell data to anyone. We collect almost nothing.
Your reasons
Your reasons are not stored anywhere. They are entered, used within the app, and discarded.
If you enable our AI blocking feature, each reason you enter is sent to a server we run for processing by an AI model, and a simple binary response is returned. Reasons are never stored on that server and will never be read by anyone or transmitted anywhere else. They aren't sent with any account or device identifier.
If you don't enable AI blocking, your reasons never leave your device.
App selections
The list of apps you choose to block is stored locally on your device. We never see any of this.
Feedback
If you send us a bug report or suggestion through the app, we receive the text you write along with your app version, iOS version, and device model. This is stored in Apple's CloudKit and only we read it. Sending feedback is entirely voluntary.
If you sign up for our waitlist or mailing list, we receive your email address. We'll use it to send you updates about Reason. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We won't sell your email to anyone.
Analytics and crash reporting
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the app is used and crash reporting to fix bugs. We don't use any of this to identify you personally, track you across apps, or build advertising profiles.
Third parties
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard web traffic data like IP addresses as part of serving the site. We don't show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, which has its own privacy practices that Apple controls.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
